Progress on the IVC vinyl manufacturing plant in south Whitfield County is continuing as Dalton Utilities’ governing board on Monday approved a $216,437 bid from Ellis Contracting to build a sewer force main.
IVC will pay for the work. Dalton Utilities accepted bids on the project to make sure it met the correct specifications, utility president Don Cope said. Ellis Contracting is based in Chatsworth and submitted the lowest of four bids.
The vote was 4-0. Board member Tom Pendley was absent. The board’s next meeting is Jan. 25, 2010, in the Dalton Utilities board room.
