Ruby ‘Jewel’ Burchfield

Mrs. Ruby “Jewel” Burchfield, 84, of Dalton departed this life Thursday, Feb. 19, 2010.

Jewel was born on Nov. 7,1925, in Gordon County, a daughter of the late Gordon Joseph and Mollie Taylor Blackwell. Mrs. Burchfield was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Leon Burchfield.

Jewel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jerry Fowler, son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Dana Holsomback, all of Dalton; five grandchildren, Mandie Weaver, Kristina Hamilton, Elizabeth Rymer, Clint Holsomback and Ben Holsomback; six great-grandchildren, special friends, Dorothy Newberry, Sheron Thompson, Kathy Baynes and Thelma Barton.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ruby “Jewel” Burchfield will be at 1 p.m. Sunday. Graveside service will be at West Hill Cemetery in Dalton where she will be laid to rest by her beloved husband.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5until 7 p.m. today.
