Police say a child was struck in an Atlanta crosswalk and dragged by a car, and a woman is due in court facing hit-and-run charges.

Sgt. Curtis Davenport of the Atlanta Police Department says 47-year-old Cynthia Parham was arrested Monday evening shortly after the accident. He says the 8-year-old struck by the car is in critical condition after being dragged 100 to 150 feet.

Davenport said the boy’s mother was with her son and witnessed the accident. The boy’s name has not been released.

Parham was taken to the Fulton County Jail and is expected to appear before a judge on Tuesday.
