Madeline Dugger Timms

Mrs. Madeline Dugger Timms, 93, of Dalton, departed this life Tuesday morning, Oct. 12, 2010, at the Floyd Medical Center in Rome.

Mrs. Timms was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Summerset, Ky., a daughter of the late John Floyd and Minnie Florence Thornehill Dugger. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charlie Timms; a daughter, Brenda Sue Timms; son, James Timms; grandson, Darrell Dugger Sr.; granddaughter, Jennifer Farmer; great-grandsons, Jeremy and Darrell Dugger Jr.; sisters, Lela Potter and May Dishman; brothers, Charles Dugger and Homer Dugger. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Lee Bell of Chatsworth and Judy and Donald Farmer of Dalton; sons, Harold Timms of Dalton and Bobby Dugger of Bowling Green, Ky.; grandchildren, Donnie and Tammie Farmer, Kenneth Dugger, Crystal and Zeke Glenn, Karen Underwood, Marvin and Christie Dugger and Lisa McDonald; great-grandchildren, Christopher McDonald, Jason Jones, Brooklyn Gonzalez, Jordan Farmer, Tyler and Nicholas Underwood; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Madeline Dugger Timms are Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Armstrong officiating.

She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
