Fire engulfs apartment complex near Norcross

Gwinnett County firefighters were battling a large apartment fire early Thursday morning near Norcross.

The blaze began around 6 a.m. and television images showed the fire engulfing several apartment units.

Gwinnett County fire Capt. Thomas Rutledge told The Associated Press that he had not received any reports of injuries.

Authorities said flames were shooting through the roof of the building when firefighters arrived, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The fire is at the Spaulding Hills apartments on Winterbrook Court.
