Frank Warren Thompson, 89, of Rocky Face, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011, at his residence.

He proudly served in World War II with the 311th Infantry, 78th Division, Company G, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, with Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and two Bronze Stars.

He was a member of Rock Bridge Community Church and was baptized at the age of 86.

Survivors include his wife, Ivonene Thompson, of the residence; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lana and Jim Cambron of Rocky Face, Cheryl and Gary Oliver of Rocky Face; one son, Wally Thompson of Calhoun; one sister, Eva Barker of St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Amber Sane, Mitchell Oliver, Matt Oliver, Christie Cambron, Lizz Cambron, Trey Thompson, Dylan Thompson; great-grandson, Tyler Thompson; nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Turley officiating.

Burial will be in Dunnagan Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 until 8 p.m.
