Free summer meals for neighborhood children

Several sites are offering free meals during the summer for children of struggling families in Whitfield County as part of the Seamless Summer Nutrition Program.

This federally funded program began as soon as school ended in June and will continue through Aug. 5. Local schools serving meals include the Career Academy, Antioch Elementary, Dawnville Elementary, Eastside Elementary and Pleasant Grove Elementary.
