Jerald Steven Hammontree

Ret. Sgt. Jerald Steven Hammontree, 59, of Dalton, departed this life Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at the Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville.

Mr. Hammontree was born June 15, 1952, in Dalton. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Gulf War. He was preceded in death by his father, John Hancel Hammontree.

He is survived by his mother, June Misener Hammontree of Dalton; son, Eric and Melinda Hammontree and his grandchildren, Dylan, Taylor and Gabriel all of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Johnny Hammontree; sisters, Judy Cox and Janet Pittman all of Dalton.
