Area arrests

• Tanner Charles Ball, 18, 855 Reed Pond Road, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Varnell Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug-related items.

• Kevin James Findley, 28, 1264 Derby Drive, Cohutta, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault and cruelty to a child.

• Patsy Ann Matlock, 49, 1264 Derby Drive, Cohutta, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault and cruelty to a child.

• Manuel Ortiz-Mendoza, 30, 3697 Tibbs Bridge Road, Dalton, was placed on hold Thursday at the Whitfield County jail by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and charged with ID theft fraud.

• Diego Armando Guijon-Hernandez, 22, 525 Teasley St., Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with robbery (forcible purse snatching) and felony failure to appear.

• Tevey Antwone James, 33, 103 Ola St., Calhoun, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with battery (family violence, first offense), kidnapping and false imprisonment.

• Jonathan David Kay, 32, 1011 Ponderosa Lane, No. 6, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI-multiple substances and an open container violation.

• Tyler James Onder, 17, 4605 Briones Drive, Cohutta, was charged Friday by the Cohutta Police Department with sale of or intent to sell marijuana.
