Roman Open tourney proceeds distributed

The 37th annual Roman Open golf tournament earlier this year raised $90,000. Some $87,000 is being distributed to numerous area charities, while $3,000 is being held over for a scholarship for next year.

Receiving funds this year are the Alzheimer’s Association, Artistic Civic Theatre, Carter Hope Center, City of Dalton Public Safety Scholarships, Cohutta Springs Conference Center, Community Connection (United Way), Cross Plains Community Partner-Cheerhaven, Dalton’s Greater Works Inc., Dalton High School Drama Club Boosters, Dalton Little Theatre, DEO Medical Clinic, Family Promise of Whitfield County, Family Support Council, First United Methodist Church of Chatsworth, Food Pantry at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Friendship House, Georgia Sheriff’s Mountain View Boys Group Home (Murray County) and Cherokee Estate, Harvest Outreach Food Bank, Helping the Hurting, Looper Speech and Hearing, Miracle League of Whitfield County, Northwest Georgia Family Crisis Center, Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership, Northwest Georgia Girls Home, Oscar N. Jonas Foundation, Providence Ministries/Battered Women’s Shelter, RossWoods Adult Day Services, Safe Kids Dalton, St. Mark’s Preschool, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Varnell United Methodist Church Food Bank, Whitfield County-Dalton Day Care Center and Women’s Enrichment Center of Dalton.
