Letter: Endorsement by paper off the mark

Although it was expected, I was disappointed as a longtime subscriber to see The Daily Citizen endorse Mitt Romney for president.

President Obama has kept the U.S. from sliding into a worse economic situation, despite much of the world sinking into more economic problems. Apparently, Americans are still expecting “instant gratification,” a problem that shows up in our divorce rate and high credit debt.
Mr. Romney said in the third debate that he could “fix the economy” in eight to 10 years. Yet he and you are critical of President Obama for not “fixing” it in four years. A bit inconsistent, isn’t it?
Most Americans are seeing an improvement in their situation. No matter who is president after this election, things will continue to improve. The difference between the two, as I see it, is that President Obama cares about the people, all of the people, and Mr. Romney cares more about what he can do for big business.
To quote Warren Buffet: “The rich are always going to say that, you know, just give us more money and we’ll go out and spend more and then it will all trickle down to the rest of you. But that has not worked the last 10 years, and I hope the American public is catching on.”
