Police said the thefts happened in the early morning hours and said they believe the suspect(s) were simply checking car doors to see which ones were left unlocked and then entering vehicles.
DPD police want to remind residents to lock their cars. In a release about the thefts, spokesman Bruce Frazier said: “In addition to making sure never to leave your car unlocked, it’s also a good idea to never leave valuables in plain sight inside of your vehicle. If you must leave valuables inside your car, hide them out of sight or lock them in your trunk to make your vehicle a less tempting target for a would-be thief.”
Anyone with information on these auto thefts is asked to contact Detective Brian Shirley at (706) 278-9085, dial 9 and then enter extension 189.
