Nolan Joe Burgess

Mr. Nolan Joe Burgess, 72, of Chatsworth, passed away from this life at his residence on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015.

He earned many certificates of appreciation from the Boy Scouts of America, worked in and helped many members of his community, was a Sunday school teacher and member of Holly Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Cecil Burgess.

Mr. Burgess is survived by his wife, Eloise Arnold Burgess of the residence; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Marty Page of Flowery Branch, Susan and Harry Hawkins of Chattanooga; mother, Audrey Burgess; one brother and sister-in-law, Shermon and Marge Burgess; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Mike Petty; six grandchildren and spouse, Paul and Martha Sparks of Flowery Branch, Joe, Jay, Janie and Julie Hawkins, all of Chattanooga; two great-grandchildren, Hudson and Lorelai Sparks.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Nolan Joe Burgess are Saturday at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Cochran and the Rev. Robert Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.

Burial will be in Fairview Church Cemetery in Whitfield County.
