Mr. Robert “Willie” William Miller, age 69, of Dalton, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 17, 2015, at the VA Hospital in Atlanta. Robert was born May 5, 1946, in Dalton, a son of the late Cecil and June Miller. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Bobby and James Miller, brothers, James and Marion Miller, sister, Sue Dyer. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Cecil “Buster” and Kimberly Miller of Chatsworth; daughters, Kimberly Chastain, Leighanne Miller of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Pat Beavers of Dalton, Donna and Nathan Parker of Chatsworth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Delano and Frances Miller, Cecil Miller Jr. and Dorothy Miller of Dalton, Larry and Sharon Miller of Chatsworth, Travis and Kim Miller, Norman Miller, Steve and Linda Miller of Dalton, Bobby Miller of Chattanooga, Tenn., Benny Miller of Ohio; grandchildren, Joshua Miller, Zach Chastain, John Chastain, Seth Silvers; great-grandchild, Zander Chastain; several nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Robert “Willie” William Miller are today at 11 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Floyd officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with American Legion Post 112 in charge of military honors. The family will received friends at the funeral home on Sunday.
