Otis David Mann, 56, 4518 Kiown Lane, Hahira, was released from the Thomas County Jail on a $7,100 bond.

THOMASVILLE, Ga. — A nurse previously employed at Archbold Memorial Hospital is charged with obtaining drugs fraudulently.

Otis David Mann, a registered nurse, is accused of stealing fentanyl from the hospital, said Keith Newman, assistant commander of the Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division.

“He was taking it (fentanyl) from the vials it comes in and replacing it with something else,” said Newman.

Fentanyl is a narcotic analgesic. Per milligram, the drug is 100 times stronger than morphine, Newman explained.

“He (Mann) was using it for his own personal use,” the assistant commander added.

The suspect, 56, 4518 Kiown Lane, Hahira, was released from the Thomas County Jail on a $7,100 bond.

Said Newman, “He did not give a statement and requested a lawyer.”
