“When we censor our history by disguising our scars, removing statues, etc., we belittle the struggles our ancestors fought so hard to overcome. America doesn’t cower behind political correctness. It defiantly and courageously moves forward, with history as a reminder of where we have been.”
“Monuments/statues are usually created for either the victims or the victors. So rather than take down Confederate statues/monuments, place a statue or monument of either the victims or the victors (whichever is more appropriate) next to the existing Confederate memorial, along with signage explaining the unvarnished truth.”

“Do you think if I told you again, like I told you a year ago, that Trump is an idiot, would you believe me?”
“Well, Go $$$ Red gets themselves a D-Tron video scoreboard. It’s starting to look like the ’80s all over again.”
“I’m from Georgia and I have three words for Bob Corker: Very smart man.”
“Doesn’t anybody get the death sentence for murder anymore? If a person is off their meds, drunk, or just plain mean or any other excuse and kills another person, what gives them the right to live? The one they murdered isn’t living. Without effective punishment, people will still keep committing murder. Maybe we need to go back to the concept of if you steal you get your hand cut off. If you kill you get killed. Don’t get me wrong, I have plenty of sympathy. But my sympathy lies with the innocent party.”
“Local restaurants serving ice tea need to be put on notice. There needs to be an upgrade in how to make it, maybe the manager should taste it before allowing paying customers to do so. I rate the quality of tea served in Dalton non-acceptable.”
“When it comes to doing a budget, what we do know is greater than what we don’t. Set aside some amount for the unexpected. If you don’t need it, add it to next year’s amount. Problem solved without gouging the taxpayer when you just want more money.”

“Fruitcakes can be found at any government office.”
“The hardest word for government to understand is no. Two-year-olds have the same problem.”
“If any government agency is running a deficit they are spending too much. Period.”
“Can some DCN readers make recommendations for a church home where the guitars and drums haven’t taken over? We love our church, but the drums and guitars have pretty much ruined worship. No one seems to appreciate beautiful worshipful piano and/or organ music any more.”
“The other caller nailed the school consolidation issue: the ‘higher-ups’ in Dalton are still the historic elitists who think they are better than everyone else and Dalton High football drives all decisions. Consolidate the systems and save the taxpayers money. If you can’t figure out how it would save money you need to go back and take a simple math course.”
“I have figured it out! Why are so many business people making such a big deal about Trump’s statements about what happened in Charlottesville and resigning from Trump’s commissions? They have been looking for a reason to get away from Trump and he finally gave them one.”
