The Dalton Little Theatre kicks off the 2017-18 season tonight with the comedy “Mama Won’t Fly” written by the trio of Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.

“Mama” is a laugh out loud comedy suitable for the entire family. Savannah Sprunt Fairchild Honeycutt (played by Susan Ridley) just wants to get her mama across country to her baby brother’s wedding. The problem? Mama (played by Nancy Broussard) refuses to fly. This results in a cross country road trip full of every conceivable mishap, and some inconceivable mishaps. The production is directed by Karen Keith and produced in cooperation with Dramatists Play Service. The cast of “Mama” features 19 actors in 23 roles.

This season, Dalton Little Theatre productions will run two weekends and will include a Sunday matinee and a Thursday evening show. Performances for “Mama Won’t Fly” begin today and run through Saturday, Sept. 16. The Sunday matinee is Sept. 10 and the Thursday performance will be the 14th. Night performances are at 7, the matinee at 2 p.m. You may reserve tickets at www.daltonlittletheatre.com or by calling (706) 226-6618.
