What are some of the things that come to your mind when you hear the term library book?

Probably bound books sitting on a shelf. Am I right?

Maybe you see a book that’s a little worn from years of love. You can probably imagine a comforting scent when it’s opened up. Possibly, you can feel the book’s texture in your hands.

What if I told you there was an entire smorgasbord of books available at the library just waiting for you to discover them … but they aren’t visible on our shelves? That they never obtain any wear and tear, they don’t have an aroma and you can’t physically touch them?

It’s not magic folks, it’s our digital collection! Our libraries provide free access to tons of eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines through RBDigital. It’s simple, it’s free and all you need is your library card.

Two announcements to wrap things up: All libraries are closed Friday, March 30, through Sunday, April 1, for the Easter holiday. Our Chatsworth-Murray County Public Library is now open at its temporary location, 100 N. 3rd Ave. in Chatsworth. If you haven’t stopped by to check out their new spot, do try. It is so quaint and cozy!

Thank you for stopping by The Bookshelf. Don’t be a stranger; come by the library and say “hi” soon.
