The Military Order of the Purple Heart Leadership Medal was presented to Cadet Col. Christian Perez of Dalton High School by Chapter 826 Commander Mike Pilvinsky at the DHS Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps Awards Banquet on Tuesday, March 27. Chapter 826 presents awards at six high schools in the region plus the Senior ROTC program at the University of North Georgia. The award recognizes a cadet for demonstrating outstanding leadership, academic excellence and patriotism. Perez is the Catamount battalion commander.
