Permanent change for Trickum voting place; advance voting for Whitfield County special election starts Feb. 25

Trickum precinct voters have been voting in Fire Station 6, at 1370 LaFayette Road. For the March special election and all future elections, the voting location for this precinct has been changed from Fire Station 6 to Lakeside Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, at 1399 LaFayette Road, Rocky Face.
This change will provide more parking and easier access and the new location is handicapped accessible.

All voters affected by this change will be mailed new voter identification cards. Signs will be placed at the new and prior location to direct voters.
Testing of the voting machines to be used in the March 19 special election will begin on Feb. 11 and continue daily until completed. The testing will be at the Board of Elections office in the Whitfield County courthouse at 205 N. Selvidge St., Suite K, Dalton.
In office, advanced voting will begin Feb. 25 at 8 a.m. at the elections office. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Early and advanced voting will end March 15 at 5 p.m.
The last day to register or make a name or address change and be eligible to vote in the March 19 special election is Feb. 19.
