Gordon Street bridge to close for repairs until late-April

The Gordon Street bridge, which connects Hamilton Street to Glenwood Avenue, will close to vehicular traffic Monday for structural repairs and reopen in late-April , according to Dalton Public Works.
Officials said the bridge will be closed for up to 30 days “for needed repair work.” Comanche Construction of Georgia based in Marietta will complete “the necessary structural repairs which will help preserve the structural integrity of the bridge for long range viability,” officials said. Drivers should use the Waugh Street bridge or Walnut Avenue bridge to access downtown Dalton while construction is being done.

The project should be completed by late-April when the bridge will be reopened to normal traffic.
