Letter: Make sure you are counted in the Census

Congratulations to Bethel A.M.E. Church on our 152nd church anniversary. As God leads me to reflect on the audacious, progressive transition here at Bethel A.M.E. Church, the Lord is surely in this place.

Though this is a building that has been erected, the 152 years of the church being in each ancestral families, individuals, friends and loved ones is the love, strength and fortitude of the true foundation of our church. Whether it be in praising God, prayer, Christian education, training, healing from past hurt, giving money to the homeless, clothing individuals, political involvement, monitoring money, community activity, concern clergy or pastor being told we take care of our own, the test has been great.

We should all remember the Scripture in Philippians 4:8: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things.” Also, verse 13, “I can do all things through Christ Jesus that strengthen us” and 2 Chronicles 20:15, “The battle is not ours but it is the Lord’s.” God is doing a new thing here at Bethel.

We would like to thank our family the North Atlanta District and the Dalton community for always being in unity with us.
