Vanessa Vaughn, right, from the Dalton Oyster Pub and Grill, happily presented Robbie Slocumb, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs Serving Chattooga, Gordon, Murray and Whitfield Counties, with a check for $3,000, money raised from the pub’s second annual Adult Prom Night supporting local nonprofits. “The prom event was a huge success, and we are so pleased to support the Boys & Girls Clubs,” Vaughn said. Slocumb was pleased to see a local business seek out the Boys & Girls Clubs for its charitable effort. “It’s such a blessing when local people invest in local service organizations like ours,” Slocumb explained. “This kind donation helps us provide a safe place for our kids to learn and grow. Local support like we received from the Oyster Pub is what makes our efforts a reality.” Vaughn reiterated the value the Oyster Pub places in the Boys & Girls Clubs as well as other local nonprofits serving the Dalton area. “Last year, the Oyster Pub was able to donate to the City of Refuge following our first prom event and we are already looking forward to next year and the chance to support another worthy organization that helps people here locally,” she added.
