Elizabeth Lara-Rios, the head boys soccer coach for The Dalton Academy, has been named Jefferson's Dalton Coach of the Year.

Jefferson’s of Dalton is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Lara-Rios has been named Jefferson’s Dalton Coach of the Year. Lara-Rios is the head boys soccer coach for The Dalton Academy and has been coaching for seven years.

Lara-Rios was chosen from a highly competitive pool of nominations submitted by athletes and community members. The contest, launched in honor of National Coach’s Day on Oct. 6, aims to recognize one of Dalton’s many deserving coaches. Jefferson’s selected Lara-Rios for her deep and selfless care for her players, both as athletes and people.

“Coach Lara-Rios’ nominators spoke of her willingness to go above and beyond,” said franchisee Jake Lund. “Some of her athletes have parents living in other countries, and she makes sure those students get to their doctor appointments and understand how to use their insurance. She’ll make breakfast for her players so everyone is well-fed and supported. She makes sure her players know she’s there for them as a role model and support system, not just a coach. We’re very glad to recognize Lara-Rios for all she does.”

Lara-Rios will receive a $500 gift card to Jefferson’s. Her achievement will also be commemorated with a “Jefferson’s Coach of the Year” plaque for all restaurant patrons to see.

“I am truly honored by this recognition, but it’s the incredible support of my team and community that makes this journey so meaningful,” Lara-Rios said in a statement. “Coaching is about more than wins — it’s about growth, connection and helping others discover their potential. This award is a reflection of that shared effort, and I’m grateful to be part of such an inspiring team and community.”
