Lisa Douglas is usually the first to step up to volunteer with nearly every mission opportunity at First Baptist Church of Dalton, according to Senior Pastor Jonathan Barlow.
“She helps with our bereavement meals,” he said. “She spends hours working on our Christmas event, Red Tubs, smiling the entire time. I am grateful for her heart. On top of all of this, she is an encourager, consistently lifting up others and making their day better.”
“Lisa Douglas is an example of selfless service and dedication to her community,” said Suzanne Hooie, minister of missions for the church. “As a deacon and active member of the mission committee, Lisa embodies the spirit of compassion and faith in action. She consistently goes above and beyond to support the church and its outreach efforts, always leading with kindness and a servant’s heart. Whether she is organizing mission projects or lending a helping hand to those in need, Lisa’s commitment to making a difference is truly inspiring.”

“One of Lisa’s most impactful contributions is her leadership of the Red Tub Ministry, which ensures that food-insecure children have meals during the holiday break,” said Hooie.
The tubs have enough food to feed a family for two weeks during the holiday break when the children are not in school and don’t receive breakfasts and lunches.
“Her hard work and dedication to this mission provide comfort and nourishment to families who might otherwise struggle during this time.,” said Hooie. “Through her efforts, Lisa not only meets physical needs but also shares God’s love in a tangible way.”
For her leadership in her church and her efforts to provide food for those in need, the Dalton Daily Citizen names Lisa Douglas Citizen of the Week.
