I’d like to share some exciting news from the Dalton-Whitfield County Public Library. We’re launching several new programs in March, with something for everyone to enjoy. Plus we have a special event coming up at the end of March.
Sensory Playtime is a new monthly program designed for children ages 1 to 4. Featuring low lights, soothing sounds and stimulating play, Sensory Playtime will help enrich little ones’ motor skills. The first session will be on Monday, March 3, from 11 a.m. to noon.
TnT: Creative Writing Club is a bimonthly program that invites tweens and teens in grades six through 12 to share their writing projects, exchange ideas and offer feedback. The meetings will be on Monday, March 3, and Monday, March 17, at 4:30 p.m.

Drawing 101 is a new monthly program that will teach the basics of pencil drawing and help participants develop fundamental art skills. Geared toward adults, all ages are welcome as long as children are accompanied by a parent. The first session will be on Monday, March 24, at 5:30 p.m. The presenter is bilingual.
We also have programs outside of the library and some wonderful partnerships to share.
The library is teaming up with Dalton Parks and Recreation again to provide programs for kids in the park. These programs will include stories, crafts and activities. The events will be free and offered in both English and Spanish. Dates and times to be announced.
You are also invited to our annual Author Fest, which will be on Saturday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event is a celebration of authors, artists, books and literacy. We will have more than 30 authors and artists in attendance, representing a wide range of genres and books for all ages. Throughout the event you can participate in engaging discussion panels and enjoy fun, free activities and crafts suitable for all ages. There truly is something for everyone.
Don’t forget all of these events are free. For more information about our programs and events, please visit our website ngrl.org or look for us on Facebook or Instagram. We hope you’ll take advantage of these fun, free programs and events.
