Syble Hobbs Singleton

Syble Hobbs Singleton, of Tunnel Hill, departed this life Monday, July 26, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a member of North Whitfield Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Earl Singleton; her parents, Alton and Bessie Hobbs; brother, Lee Allen Hobbs; sisters, Judy Black, Alide Siffles and Reba Wilson.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Judith Atkins and Anthony and Linda Atkins, all of Tunnel Hill; four grandsons, Jason and Tara Atkins of Chatsworth, Eric Atkins of Tunnel Hill, Truman and Rachel Caldwell of Westside, Dewayne and Christa Caldwell of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego; one granddaughter, Zebbra and Eric Ward of Dalton; one great-granddaughter, Anna Atkins; one brother, Billy Hobbs of Dalton; two sisters, Shirley Trotter of Harrison, Tenn., and Annie Scott of Dalton; special nieces, Bessie Mae Robinson and Carlene Siffles.

Services are Thursday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill with the Rev. Lillard Stringer officiating.

Burial will be in Gordy Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m.
