Graves holding Service Academy Information Fair, RSVP deadline is today

U.S. Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ranger, is sponsoring a 9th Congressional District Service Academy Information Fair on Saturday, March 26, for students in eighth grade or higher who are interested in attending any of the nation’s military service academies, and their parents.

The fair will be held at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Students are encouraged to RSVP to Graves’ Gainesville office by today. The phone number is (770) 535-2592.

Representatives from five military service academies — U.S. Military Academy (West Point), U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy — will attend. School counselors are also welcome.

Each service academy will detail its program during a 10-minute introductory briefing. Prior to the formal briefing, each service academy will have information tables and an admissions representative to answer questions and provide information. After the 10-minute briefings, each academy will provide a more in-depth briefing in a designated breakout room.
