Jeanne H. Shepherd

Dr. Jeanne H. Shepherd went home to be with the Lord on May 18, 2011. She was born in Chattanooga and was preceded in death by her parents, Chesher and Margaret Holmes. She is survived by her son, Mark Shepherd, wife Lisa and family of Huntsville, Ala.; her daughter Maggie Robinson, husband Ray; and grandchildren, Katie and Jake Patterson of Dalton.

Jeanne passed away in the hospital in Huntsville after a courageous battle with cancer. Until her battle took her to Huntsville to be near her doctors, Jeanne had lived in Dalton for over 10 years where she greatly contributed to the community through her work at MedBank, the Deo Clinic, and where she served God faithfully at the Church on the Hill, formerly Evangelical Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed by this community and her many friends in Dalton. As her final act of service, Jeanne donated her body for research to the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

A Memorial Service celebrating Jeanne’s life will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Church on the Hill (formerly Evangelical Methodist Church), 1035 Abutment Road, Dalton. The Rev. Eddie Taylor will be in charge.  

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made in memory of Jeanne to the Church on the Hill, P.O. Box 62, Dalton, GA 30720.
