Mrs. Dorothy Burkett Runyan, 75, of Tunnel Hill, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Berry and Julia Brock Burkett, and was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Runyan, and a brother, J.C. Burkett.

Dorothy truly loved her church family at Rocky Face Baptist Church where she was a member for 44 years.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Pam and Lloyd Akins of Palm Coast, Fla., Dan and Joan Runyan of Kingston, Tenn., Stephanie Jolly of Dalton and Kristy and Danny Morton of McDonald, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Mary Burkett; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Bud Harmon, Juanita and Herman Quinn, Murt McRae, Dean and John Godfrey, and sister-in-law Betty Burkett; grandchildren, James Akins, Shannon Runyan, Jordan Jolly, Jassy Snyder, Kelsey Morton, Colton Morton and Kevin Keith; great-grandchildren, Hunter Runyan and Zoë Runyan; nieces and nephews; and her loving caregiver, Charlotte Estep.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Van Smith and the Rev. Jim Brinkley officiating.

Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home today from 5 to 9 p.m.
