Edith Sloan Lewis

Edith Sloan Lewis, 87, of Cohutta, passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Regency Park Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nellie Sloan; brothers, Franklin Sloan and Charles Sloan; sisters, Ona Mae Hall and Iva Lee Hammontree.

She was a member of McGaughey Chapel Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, George Lewis of the residence; daughter, Krista Lewis of Morristown, Tenn.; son, Tony Lewis of Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Bonnie Sloan of Cohutta; nieces and nephews; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special thank you goes to special caregivers nieces, Elaine McDonald and Charlene Miller.

The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Rob Pierce officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 until 8 p.m.
