Charles Pickell

Mr. Charles Pickell, 77, of Dalton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Signature Healthcare in Marietta.

He was a native of Chickamauga and was a member of the Dalton First United Methodist Church. He was graduate of Emory University Law School where he received his J.D. degree and practiced law in Dalton for many years as a real estate attorney. Active to his community and to those less fortunate than he was, Charlie belonged to the Dalton Noon Lions for 40-plus years, serving in all of the offices of the club such as district governor of Lions District 18-A; president of the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation Inc. in Atlanta for three years; and was a tireless worker for the International Association of Lions Clubs and for the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation.

A memorial service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Dalton First United Methodist Church with Dr. Robin Lindsey officiating.
