Michael Anthony Bishop

Mr. Michael Anthony Bishop, 55, of Dalton, departed this life Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at his residence.

Michael was born Aug. 25, 1957, in Dalton, a son of the late Oscar and Martha Goswick Bishop. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Gary and David Bishop. He was employed at Universal Textile for 36 years.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Bridget Bailey of Dalton, Crystal and Shane Shelton of Calhoun, and Angela and Keith Blaylock of Chatsworth; brothers, Sonny Bishop, Kim Bishop and Danny Bishop; sister, Lisa Taylor, all of Dalton; and grandchildren, Courtney Bailey, Wesley Shelton, Cohen Shelton, Tanner Edwards, Emma Blaylock and Will Blaylock.  

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Michael Anthony Bishop will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m.
