Terry Carter

Terry Carter, 61, of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014.

Terry was born Sept. 10, 1952, in Gate City, Va. He is the son of Bill and Janie Carter who survive.  He was a member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and has been a resident of Gordon County for the past 20 years. He was an avid golfer and alumnus of Lincoln Memorial University. He was an avid enthusiast of the University of Tennessee football program and held season tickets for many years. Terry was formerly employed by Beaulieu as vice president of purchasing.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Davis Carter of Calhoun; his parents, Bill and Janie Carter of Gate City, Va.; stepson, Nick Clark and his wife Rhona of Chattanooga; brother, Micky Carter and his wife Barbara of Rock Hill, S.C.; niece, Anna Carter; and nephew, Will Carter.

The family will receive friends for visitation today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Calhoun.

Memorial services are Friday at 6 p.m. at Gate City Funeral Home, 136 Fleming Road, Gate City, VA 34251.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Elks Lodge for their Aidmore Children’s Center.
