Richard ‘Dick’ Pfuntner

Mr. Richard “Dick” Pfuntner, 62, of Dalton, departed this life Monday, June 30, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Dick was born July 11, 1951, in Canadaigua, N.Y., a son of the late Kenneth Owen and Grace Hess Pfuntner. He was of the Catholic faith and was very active in the Mineral Springs United Methodist Church. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He was employed at Suburban Propane.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Pfuntner of the residence; children and their spouses, Tera Beason, Jamie and Ashley Pfuntner, Denny and Ariel Wilson, all of Dalton, and Caroline and Justin Patty of Chatsworth; sisters and brother-in-law, Denise and Richard Spike, and Elanore Pfuntner of Canaseraga, N.Y.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Joyce Pfuntner of Dansville, N.Y., and Mike and Edna Pfuntner of Washington, N.C.; grandchildren, Ashley Pfuntner, Amber Beason, John “JT” Beason, Jamie Pfuntner, Jacob Patty, Kenny Pfuntner, Erin Phillips, Carrie Smith, Gracien Pfuntner, Ashtyn Pfuntner, Brycen Moore, Heydyn Pfuntner, James Pfuntner Jr., Braxton Wilson and Lily Patty; great-grandchild, Adelynn Ivey; and nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Richard “Dick” Pfuntner will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. from the Mineral Springs United Methodist Church with Gordon Delashmitt officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society, The Heart Foundation or the Mineral Springs United Methodist Church.
