Leslie Mulloy Starr

Mrs. Leslie Mulloy Starr, 60, of Dalton, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Hamilton Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan McMillan Starr Sr., and her mother, Julia Bright Mulloy.

Leslie was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, where she was a preschool teacher for 21 years and served as head of Christian education. She also was active in the Artistic Civic Theatre and co-directed plays at Valley Point Middle School. Leslie was an enormous supporter of her two sons and attended hundreds if not thousands of her sons’ sporting events and could frequently be found at local ballparks.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Harlan McMillan “Mac” Starr Jr. and Daisy Kraft Starr, and Jefferson Mulloy Starr and his fiancee, Laine Adair Voccio, all of Atlanta; father, James J. Mulloy of Lexington, Ky.; and grandson, Harlan McMillan “Harley” Starr III.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Peace For You, Hamilton Home Health, friends and the community for their loving care and support.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. C. Dean Taylor officiating.

Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Parrish Hall of the church on Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m.
