Jasper Paul Davis

Jasper Paul Davis, 98, of Crandall, formerly of Ellijay, passed from this life

on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at his residence. He was a member of Fairy Valley Baptist

Church in Crandall. Mr. Davis was an ordained Baptist minister and pastored several churches in the North Georgia area. He was born March 27, 1917, in Ellijay, Gilmer County, Ga., to his late parents Wilce and Alice Smith Davis. He was employed with Galaxy Carpet before retiring. Mr. Davis is preceded in death by wives Nina Mae Davis and Edna Davis, children Bobby Davis and Gwendale Davis and 12 siblings.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law James Clyde and Barbara Davis of Jasper, J.P. and Jackie Davis of Jasper, Elijah and Eva Davis of Ellijay, and Douglas Davis of Ellijay; stepchildren and in-laws Peggy and Lonnie Dunn of Chatsworth, Helen and Richard Strickland of Stone Mountain, Junior and Karen Davenport of Chatsworth, Thomas Kendrick of Crandall; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral service is today at 2 p.m. from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lloyd Scott and the Rev. Franklin Harper officiating. Music and singing will be by Martha Harper, Barry Abernathy, Manuel Holt and Charlie Stevenson. Graveside service will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bradley Davenport, Bryan Davenport, Anthony Davis, Joshua Davis, Mitchell Davis and Brandon Davis.
