Dalton High School’s Homecoming is a time of celebration for students, staff and alumni and the Dalton Education Foundation will be joining the festivities again this year by hosting “Paint the Town Red: Party Under the Big Top” following the Dalton High football game on Friday, Oct. 23.

The event is at the greenspace in downtown Dalton and is open to those 21 years of age or older who want to support educational excellence in the community. Sound Imitations will provide entertainment and The Dalton Depot will provide a cash bar.

This is the second year that the DEF has hosted an event after the homecoming game.

“We have so many wonderful supporters of our schools and our foundation,” said Mike Maret, president of Dalton Education Foundation’s Board of Trustees. “We thought having an event connected with Dalton’s Homecoming would just add another element to the festivities for the adults. The event will provide an opportunity for everyone, from football fans and alumni who come out for the game to anyone who recognizes the importance of a quality education in our community, to enjoy a time of celebration and raise money for the foundation’s programs.”

DEF funds a number of programs that benefit students and staff in Dalton Public Schools.

“We wanted to give our community an opportunity to support our schools through this celebration,” added Tyna Stevenson, who coordinates the event for the foundation. “Last year’s event was well received so we wanted to make it a part of the Homecoming traditions of Dalton.”

Tickets for the event may be purchased online at DaltonRed.eventbrite.com or at the Dalton Depot for $10 in advance, $15 day of the event. Sponsors for the event include Shaw Floors (Gold sponsor), Box 1 Inc. and Oriental Weavers (Silver sponsors) and BB&T Mortgage, Carniceria Loa, Coldwell Banker Kinard Realty, Dalton Utilities, Dalton Plastic Surgery and Engineered Floors (Bronze sponsors).

The Dalton Education Foundation is an independent, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting educational excellence in the Dalton Public Schools through education, recognition and enrichment.
