Chinese scientists announce their facility can clone humans

The Chinese scientist behind the world’s biggest cloning factory has technology advanced enough to replicate humans, he told AFP, and is only holding off for fear of the public reaction. Boyalife Group and its partners are building the giant plant in the northern Chinese port of Tianjin, where it is due to go into production within the next seven months and aims for an output of one million cloned cows a year by 2020. — Live Mint

Nuns go undercover as prostitutes

A network of nuns has ditched their habits to dress like prostitutes and infiltrate brothels worldwide in an effort to rescue victims of sex trafficking and buy children sold into slavery. The group of 1,100 religious sisters, known as Talitha Kum, currently works undercover in brothels in at least 80 countries, helping to free victims of sex trafficking and slavery. — Fox News

Turkish president suing doctor who compared him to ‘Lord of the Rings’ character Gollum

A Turkish court has asked experts to determine whether the “Lord of the Rings” character Gollum is good or evil to decide whether a doctor insulted Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan, the defendant’s lawyer told Reuters on Wednesday. Erdogan’s lawyers are suing Bilgin Ciftci, a physician from the western city of Aydin, after he shared pictures on social media of the president juxtaposed with those of the “small, slimy creature” immortalized in J.R.R.
