Roy Monroe Turnipseed

Roy Monroe Turnip-seed, 79, of LaFayette, departed this life Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015.

He was born in Rock Spring to the late Arthur Randolph and Alice Mildred Turnip-seed. Roy

served in the U.S. Air Force and later retired from Richmond Carpets and he was a member of Revival Baptist Church in Chickamauga.  

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Lois Turnipseed, and his daughter, Becky Turnipseed Perry.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Turnipseed of LaFayette; children, Michael Turnipseed of Dalton, Ronald (Elizabeth) Turnipseed of Rossville, Tammy Renay Anderson of Walker County; siblings, Mattie Lou Bryant of Summerville, Doris Lynn Townsend of LaFayette, Jakie Turnipseed of Trion; grandchildren, Deidre, Ronnie, Ashlea; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Timmy Turnipseed officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Family will receive friends today from 2 to 8 p.m. and prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
