Mr.  Jack Linden Anderson Sr., 79 of Sugar Valley, departed this life Sunday June 28, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Anderson was born in Austell on Sept. 29, 1935, a son of the late James Earl Anderson and Delmar Leigh Mitchell Anderson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Griff Anderson and his son, Jack Lin Anderson Jr.

He was a member of South Calhoun Baptist Church. From a young age, Jack was a high energy person who loved to be on his tractor on his farm. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, his antique cars and fast driving and farming. At a young age he helped his dad on his farm and worked the apple orchards they owned. Jack worked in the power plants, loved his farm and family and worked very hard as a businessman, contractor and farmer.  Even after his illness and he needed help walking, he would get on his tractor and mow his fields. He never met a stranger and was never at a loss for conversation. He could talk for hours telling of his lifetime experience to friends. He was a one of a kind individual that touched the lives of many.

Mr. Jack Linden Anderson Sr. is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Faye Elrod Anderson; grandsons, Jamie Anderson and Joseph Anderson, and his wife, Christina, and great-granddaughter, Kelly; step-daughter, Zonda Lynn Wilson ,and a special person like a son, Quinton Stepp; great-granddaughter, Aimery Lynn Anderson; nephews, Ronald Jack Anderson, and wife Laura, Larry Griff Anderson, great-nephew, Dr. Richard Nolon Anderson; great-niece, Melissa and Matt Keneck, and son, Andy. Several nieces and other nephews and loving friends.

The service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jack Linden Anderson Sr. will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne Shadix officiating. He will be laid to rest at the family farm in Sugar Valley with David Howerton, Blake Holbert, Quinton Stepp, Jan Goble, James Hyde and Gary Kendrick, Chuck Richards and Terry Brumlow serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Johns, Jack Stepp, Larry Bone and Larry Holbert.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel today from 5 until 9 p.m. and from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
