Alcohol brings pain and heartache

Thank you, Paul Tipton, for your letter to the editor in Friday’s paper.

Count me in as one of those “old-fashioned religious fanatics.” Having grown up with an alcoholic father, and having had an alcoholic brother and sister (both of whom have passed away), I know the heartache and pain alcohol brings. Unless one has lived through it, they have no idea.

No one ever takes a drink with the intention of becoming an alcoholic, and no one ever knows which drink will be that one that throws them over the edge to the point of no return. I hate the devil with a passion for the way he deceives good people into ruining their lives and those of their families.

God help us. This nation is on the brink of total ruin, but Jesus is coming soon! Hallelujah. He is Lord!
