MOULTRIE, Ga. — A family feud between a Colquitt County man and his nephew escalated Wednesday from bad blood to flowing blood in a fight that landed both in jail.

When a deputy arrived at about 5:12 p.m. to the 564 Edmondson Road residence of Eric Duane Best Jr., he reported that Scott Kenneth Coar had assaulted him.

Best had blood “all over his face” at the time, according to Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The two had apparently had a long-term disagreement that erupted into the fight on Wednesday, sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Robinson said. Coar, who lives at 566 Edmondson Road, is Best’s uncle.

Best, 31, and Coar, 52, were each charged with battery.
