VALDOSTA, Ga. – An apartment search resulted in the confiscation of an estimated $14,000 in narcotics Wednesday morning.
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the drugs, valued by the Valdosta Police Department at $13,982, according to a VPD report released Thursday.

After receiving complaints of possible drug activity from residents of a 200 block West Adair Street apartment complex, a search warrant was secured by VPD narcotics detectives and members of the Valdosta Power Squad.
They arrived at the apartment at 8 a.m., according to a press release from the Valdosta Police Department.
Detectives reportedly seized 509.6 grams of “high-grade marijuana,” valued at $10,192; 27.3 grams of cocaine, valued at $2,730; 5.39 grams of Alpha-PVP, valued at $1,060; a handgun and an AK-47 which had been reported stolen, reports stated.
Tools reportedly indicative of narcotics sales, worth $2,446, were also seized by police.
Two suspects, Jamal Lane and Tierra Linder, were taken into custody and both face numerous charges, according to the VPD.
Lane, 25, is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of Alpha PVP with intent to distribute, possession of narcotics tools, terroristic threats, theft by receiving stolen property – firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violation of parole, according to VPD.

Linder, 21, is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of Alpha PVP with intent to distribute, possession of narcotics tools, theft by receiving stolen property-firearm and active arrest warrant, according to reports.
“The Valdosta Police Department commends the residents of the apartment complex that assisted law enforcement by providing vital information on the illegal activity. Everyday citizens are essential to keeping criminals from preying on our children. The resulting investigation and subsequent arrests were also the result of the diligent and tireless effort by our investigators,” VPD Lt. Adam Bembry said in a statement.
