The Dalton Convention Center completed an historic year in 2016 by beating budgeted net revenue by 35 percent. Net revenue surpassed the previous year (2015) by 42 percent.
“This bottom-line performance has never been seen in my 20 years at the convention center,” said Doug Phipps, general manager of the Dalton Convention Center. “This accomplishment required bringing in over 28 percent more revenue than budgeted but the real achievement was managing the expenses in order to record the historic performance for 2016.”

“In addition to the great numbers from an accounting standpoint, the convention center generated economic impact of $4,451,207 to local businesses,” said Brett Huske, director of tourism. “Without the convention center the business we hosted would have been in another community, negatively impacting our hotels, restaurants and shops in the Dalton area.”
