Hazel Witherow

Mrs. Hazel Witherow, of Chatsworth, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jonas and Mary Key; brothers, Arthur and Lewis Key, all of Ellijay; sisters, Ethel Tanner of Dalton, Clara Young of Ellijay and Bernice Garren of Detroit, Mich.

Survivors include her daughter, Lillie “Ruth” Witherow of Chatsworth; sons and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Shelby Witherow and Wilburn Witherow, all of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Bryan Witherow of Ringgold, Michael and April Cantrell of Chatsworth, Michelle and Stacy Payne of Ellijay; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Griggs of Ellijay; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be today at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Cochran and the Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Georgia Mountain Hospice, Inc., P.O. Box 580, Jasper, GA 30143.

Peeples Funeral Home and Crematory of Chatsworth is in charge of the arrangements.
