Today’s Forum for Jan. 6/7

“I suggest that today’s Forum ban any and all comments that include the words Democrat, Republican, Biden or Trump. All these comments are getting old and boring. Let’s move on.”

“Does everybody remember racquetball and what the big rage it was in the ‘70s and ‘80s? This is going to be the same thing with pickleball. We do not need to build any new facilities. How many racquetball courts do you see around?”

“We do not need a pickleball complex. This is ridiculous.”

“Regarding the rezoning for proposed housing units off Dug Gap: How stupid are we willing to get? This is going to seriously devalue existing homes in the area and continue to downgrade the quality of life here. and that’s not even mentioning the horrible effect on traffic in the area. Way too many homes in one area.”

“It’s really sad to see how Dalton is so concerned with protecting what they think is their right to live in a certain area by not wanting other homes or apartments, etc., to be built that could help someone else to have a place to live in a nice area. There’s so much greed and just hatred toward people in our Dalton community, comments being made about certain kinds of people, it is truly sad to see all of this happening. And just a reminder, we are only passing through this life, we have another life after death. That should be considered. But again, I guess we are the Dalton Difference.”

“I don’t think we can meaningfully address Dalton’s budget until we deal with reality: The lion’s share goes to the police and fire departments, and anyone suggesting they could use a haircut gets shouted down.”
