Armored car robbery suspect wounds guard, kills self

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. (AP) — A man suspected of robbing an armored car and shooting a guard in a bank parking lot shot and killed himself as authorities closed in on him.
Henry County Police Lt. Jason Bolton identified the suspect as Charles Antoine Thornton, 28, of Lithonia, Ga.
Bolton said the man robbed the car Monday afternoon in a Bank of America parking lot, shooting and wounding guard Dywane Trigg, 35, of Marietta, Ga.
Police followed Thornton to a nearby parking lot, where he shot himself while inside his getaway car, Bolton said.
Trigg was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition Tuesday morning.
