Rev. Trammell Star Lewallen

Rev. Trammell Star Lewallen, 67, of Dalton, departed this life on Saturday evening, Nov. 4, 2006, at the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn. He lived the majority of his life in Whitfield County, where he was born on April 3, 1939. He was a son of the late Virgil and Georgia Mae Huggins Lewallen. Mr. Lewallen was an evangelist and a member of the Gospel Light Tabernacle in Dalton. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Lewallen and Virgil Monroe Lewallen Jr.; and four sisters, Mable Duncan, Dot Huggins, Florence Lewallen and Margie Lewallen.

Mr. Lewallen is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Kirk Davis of Dalton, and Donna Lewallen; his sister, Vergie Nell Lewallen; brother-in-law, Fred Huggins; granddaughter, Andrea Brown, all of Dalton, and Hope Phillips of Hixson, Tenn.; great-grandson, Hunter Brown; a number of nieces, nephews and many special friends survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Rev. Trammell Lewallen will be held today at noon from the Gospel Tabernacle with Rev. George Witt, Jackie Chastain and Trey Starnes officiating. He will be laid to rest at the West Hill Cemetery. Mack Bettis, Forrest Davis, Jeff Allen, Keith Jones, Fred Huggins Jr. and Ron Hogg will all be honored to serve as pallbearers.
