CHATSWORTH — The following guilty pleas were heard Wednesday in Superior Court:
• Glen C. Blankenship, no address available, to being a habitual violator. He was sentenced to three years in prison and is required to serve at least 14 months in a probation detention center and two months in jail.
• Rocky Allen Busby, no address available, to failure to register as a sex offender. He was sentenced to three years in prison.
Busby was convicted of child molestation in 1991 in Murray County. He registered as a sex offender but did not update his registration information when he moved, officials said.
Sex offenders are required to update their information by a certain time each year, and when Busby hadn’t updated his information officials with the Georgia Crime Information Center notified the sheriff’s office, said chief deputy Ray Sitton.
• Cody Dustin Silvers, no address available, to aggravated assault for strangling his mother in September 2004. Silvers was sentenced to 20 years, with 18 months in jail and the rest of the time on probation; to pay a $2,000 fine plus court costs, surcharges and probation fees; to 100 hours community service; to attend anger management treatment; to attend alcohol and drug counseling; to submit to random drug screens; and to undergo mental health evaluation.
Assistant district attorney Scott Minter told Judge Cindy Morris that Silvers’ mother did not want her son prosecuted, which is why Morris granted a lighter sentence.
